Activated by about a 4 second press of the selector button which causes the input indicator led to blink 3 times.

I was getting tired of constantly having to unplug and plug in toslinks to get around the tv's crumby built in speakers.

Pricey but it was exactly what we needed to create our home theater.

So overall for the price point, an outstanding affordable optical switch device.

The current price of ~$40 is reasonable.
