The jbl shows its mettle with movie soundtracks. Jurassic park - trex monstrosity holy f***. Blair witch (2016) - incredible atmos. I keep saying for movies because that's where this bar shines.
Setup and connectivity was a breeze, it's pretty much plug and play. With the satellites connected to the main bar, there is never any issues. The soundbar is simple to install in my current setup.

The jbl has terrific surround sound capabilities when watching 4k uhd movies & is extremely great when streaming hifi or bluetooth music. Airplay works, too. For streaming, since everything is compressed, it requires volume to be turned up more.
Cons

The detachable wireless speakers sound really good and they are truely wireless, no power cord.
The audio is crisp, precise, and well-distributed across the frequency spectrum.
Sound quality is geared for movie soundtracks rather than music.
1 was able to turn off the upmixing by holding atmos button on remote for 10 secs - this doesnt work for the jbl 1300x.

The price is a bit high, but then again, this sound bar is for a larger rooms.
Not a deal breaker for most but if looking to use for gaming be warned.
Competitiveness
This soundbar is the best competition out there imo.
The subwoofer is definitely a step-up and dare i say almost to home theater level (comparing my pc2000 svs).
I couldn't decide between the sonos arc, bose 900, ambeo plus & jbl 1300x.
I am comparing it to my discrete home heater setupwhich has a subwoofer from the other 3 letter hi-fi subwoofer brand.

Most reviews put it at its lowest setting…installation can’t be any simple literally plugin ac power to the subwoofer ac power to the sound bar hdmi to your television hdmi to your cable or dish provider

Or you can simply use the provided remote controlthe system is completely wireless so the rear speakers have no wires attached to them

They have a builtin battery that last several months and once the batteries are low it’ll indicate you and you have plenty of time to finish watching your movie and then charge them
