Pros
My coworker has this speaker, and we use it constantly in the shop. The charge feature is a life saver. Bluetooth connectivity is a breeze.
The 3 is simply better sounding in my option. It is louder with much more bass. Louder is always better but it's pretty good. The battery life is long and sound quality is very clear.
Perfect size for portability. Super durable which is great when transporting and taking it with you.
Cons

Sound quality is better than average for a speaker this size.
Sound quality is impressive and it’s small so you can carry it anywhere.
The 5 sound quality is a little better but the 3 has micrphone.
I went with the charge 4 thinking i would like it even more because well it was a newer version.
Price
For the price i don't know of anything better.
Competitiveness
I like the jbl charge3 waterproof version very much.
Bought this as a gift for my daughter,she loves it.

However there are certain sounds it cant handle such as very lowhigh pitch tones musically and vocally it starts to make crackling sounds so you definitely have to lower the volume to avoid causing damage for sure cant handle songs with a lot of reverb

It also seems to lower the volume in certain intervals for some reason like the volume is untouched but whatever song youre listening to goes up and down in sound

Im not sure if i got a defective product but it also sounds like it rattles from the inside sometimes making the sound come out as if its in front of a fan

The battery only lasted about 8 hours total it died pretty fast
