Pros

These speakers sound great, but in my application in a 1969 mustang package tray, i found they were thicker than the speaker pods allowed. These speakers have a bulkier chassis and magnet that require more clearancing so that they fit. For the price, ... Read More

If you install these correctly, correct + - polarity, properly mounted in some enclosure with resonance, then these things have plenty of bass. They play clean and crisp with good responsive bass that’s not muddy but fairly firm.

Ordered these for my 2018 subaru impreza sport. Easy install using the metra speaker adapters and quick connect speaker wire harness. These make the doors rattle!

Cons

Wires for woofers are only 24 gage very small for a high power woofer. These speakers are cheesy, but the marine head units are worse. I have owned countless systems in my life, these speakers are at the bottom of that list.

The built in crossover is terrible. Only lasted about 3 weeks.

Cheap junk, not the real jbl of yesteryear. Rubber cone material tears after about a year of heavy use. Had to open case and re glue.

They sound great paired with the 6x9s in the rear.

Bass quality is maybe half the speaker itself and half the enclosure.

Don't get me wrong, for the price, they're great.

Packaging/appearance

I am driving them off the 80w per channel supplied by my head unit.

Competitiveness

Nice and clear with pretty nice bass for a 6x9 not in a box.

If you compare to other 6x9 speakers in this price range, they're fine.

I decided to return them, spend a little more, and get these jbls instead.
