The dcp2500 model is plenty of power for my 40 breeder with a bean animal overflow. Mine has no leak issues at all and i love it. You're able to adjust the percentage of power that the pump receives from 0-100.

The only noise i hear is from my overflow which is minimal trickle. The adjustable flow allows me to keep the return dead silent, without fiddling with the overflow diaphram valve. This pump is much quieter than the oem corallife pump or my sicce pump... Read More

This is on a 40b mixed reef and has definitely impressed me! All my tanks now run on these pumps. Running it on a sump with about a 4 foot lift, no issues as of today.

The pump is awesome definitely recommend for a budget friendly dc pump.

I like to buy ‘used’ on amazon if there is an option and significant savings.
