Pros

My pond is probably the cleanest it has ever been. I use it for my koi pond, the water stays clear. The 55 uses a different ballast and is working fine.

Works great cleaned up green water in one week

The uv filter works well to clear the cloudiness from my tank and was easy to setup.

Exhausted with chemicals that didn't touch the algae, i took the plunge and bought a pu-36; being the eternal skeptic, i was wary.

Price

I ordered a new unit since the cost was so reasonable and it was a ple3asure doing the installation with new materials.

The first lasted 4 years and kept my 2,000 gal ornamental koi pond crystal clear, so it cost less than 25 dollars a year.

Then i tried a cheaper one that didn’t.

Competitiveness

There must have been a bad run of ballasts for the 36 watt as i purchased several brands all using the same ballast that were doa.
