Pros

The pump is quiet and powerful. It's not quite as quiet as the12000 but is still almost silent. I really like the feed button that turns it off for 10 minutes.

With all 3 flow paths open i still have the flow rate dialed 4 settings down from max. If i run it al full speed, it overtakes the two 1 inch drains i have in the overflow box. I have a backup 1 inch drain in case the pump decides to go rouge.

The control boxes have a circuit protection box and they give you a code of sorts in flashing lights. It also has a power pack and adaptor and make for easy installation.

Cons

The cord from the motor to the controller is only 8 ft 9 in long, which is pretty impractical for an outdoor pond unless it's in a skimmer. The controller and power supply are definitely not even water resistant. As of now, it’s just a paper weight. I... Read More

I can buy a lot of baby food with the difference.

Over all i am very pleased with this unit.

Now to initial quality, the pump has some wait to it and seems to be solid.

I instead used the adaptor that came with the unit and used flex hose to connect to my plumbing.

Packaging/appearance

Needless to say that is hard and if you are like me than you will get it wet and it will fail, which led me to the pondmaster.

Competitiveness

I upgraded to this pump from a jebao dc 12000.

Saving on replacing my old 350w pump with this more efficient 155w.
