The case fits the tablet snugly and securely but it should still be possible to get the tablet out due to the slightly flexible nature of the rear shell

I find that if the pen is placed against the right edge of the case there is enough residual magnetic attraction from the rear magnet that the pen will stick to the right side

The pen fits very snuggly into the handy case penholder to the point where if you are taking out the pen every few minutes to mark your music it a bit of a hassle removing and returning the pen to its cradle because the cradle is good and secure
