Salmon roe as a more economic topping for your hors d'oeuvres. Recipes are updated and fun with a lot of style. The recipes are delicious.
This book is a true gem. Love the book. No dislikes.
The charred onion and cream cheese schmear puts all store-bought ones to shame. Highly recommend trying the tabuleh salad, french onion dip, and trying your hand at a tahdig. Gearing up to try a chocolate babka this weekend.

Cons
The photos are sickeningly warm and studded with flash. Layout and design also suffer and deepen the feeling of cheapness. The book's saving grace is the author's kitsch and charm in stories. And the ish would be better pronounced ich.

I read some of the reviews of this book and wanted to address one in particular that criticized the book for being “woke” and how that was unwanted in a cookbook

What i do know is that you cannot find a recipe anywhere these days online or in a cookbook that does not have the author’s story attached to it
