The onky downside i could find about this is the blade retention is with an allen screw so it takes some time to change blades. Helps to have the notches to line up the cuts.

The machine is well built and is professional. Have many up and coming projects todo and i'm sure this will be capable. Good for smaller household projects.

Makita is the last home gamer tools not owned by some mega corp inc. They seem to still value quality and reputation over profit! Makita makes quality tools and this is no different.

The trigger is a little sensitive so be careful when the tool is plugged in. Worked great.

It is very, very smooth so much so that vibration is basically indiscernible. It's got a very smooth and fluid movement, and plenty of power. Multi speed is super!

The shoe is mediocre at best. The roller bearing slides back and forth, which defeats the purpose of keeping the blade straight. The bracket for holding the saw in the 90 degree spot is weak and moves when you cut.
