Pros

Comes with converter. Cartridge. Love the convertor refill cartridge.

Solid brass body with enamel overlay. Good choice for fountain pen beginners and more experienced users. Good heft without being unwieldy.

The jinhao x450 is a very nice pen, especially when one considers the price (under $8). The definite bargain of the fountain pen world. This pen is just heavenly and can sit proudly next them.

For walk-around sketching, i think the pen will do very well, if for nothing else. I admit to being a newbie with fountain pens. I own several jinhao fountain pens and they all are solid performers.

Cap snaps on solid. The cap slips on snugly which is great.

Cons

Save your money and get a lamy. The lid comes off very easily. If the pen is even lightly shaken with the lid on ink spills into the cap.

I worked with the nib getting the ink to flow which was a little unnerving.

It's amazing how this pen writes and for the price, i can't believe.

You can't go wrong, writes well and there is no leaking or any issues you would expect from such a cheap price.

But this pen for the price is nice!

Competitiveness

I loaded my chinese red jinhoa x450 with vulpen inkt #21china red.

In my opinion, this pen writes as well as any of my montblanc pens at a fraction of the price.

M nib writes about like a european m, a little thinner than my twsbi m.
