Highlights
Quality
All in all, i’m very happy with the hood.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a hood for the 17mm.
Did not bother for a replacement due to the hassle of returning the product.
Very difficult to get the olympus included lens cap on with the hood on.
Price
It does the job well and the price was right.
Competitiveness
Very good hood for the olympus 17mm f1.
Excellent quality, perfect fit on my olympus 17mm zuiko lens.
Works perfectly with my olympus 17mm, f1.
I switched out the lens cap with a cowboystudio univeral 46mm center pinch snap-on front lens cap and that works out a ton better.

Yeah as a clone of the oly it has the same design flaws that some have mentioned but that’s olympus’s problem not jjc’s

The only really annoying design feature from olympus is that even though oly designed both the hood and the lens cap for that lens they don’t play nice together
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
The oly lens cap has the release tabs right on the very outside edge making it quite difficult to put on or remove when the hood is on the lens

The attachment method is strange but seems to work ok

Use care in tightening the screw as it does not appear to be a strong clamping device
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Having the olympus brand etched in to the lens hood is not worth the price difference
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Its mounted by tightening the knob on the side which then pushes a metal band into the lens so there is a large area in contact with the lens
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Its not a 46mm screwon mount
