The shape provides a low profile yet functional light shade for the lens. It also protects the lens from fingerprints even without a cap. Perhaps most importantly, my 49mm filter threads perfectly.

The adapter ring works great on the x70 and looks very much like the unavailable ar-x70. The silver colour is exactly match the silver colour of camera. All f stops are fine.

When used with built-in flash (which is the beauty of this leaf shutter camera) for some reason the camera overexposes by one stop.
