Pros
The gorillapod action tripod has a threaded tripod mount so any camera with the standard mounting thread can be used. The tripod can also be used to attach a compact camera or other small device.
The grip is always sturdy and the product is well made. The legs are sturdy, grip to things well and bend how i want it to. Legs are stiff and hold position well.
Great build quality and excellent customer service. Very versatile. Quick delivery.
It produces stable footage whilst being able to capture most angles. You can refine your camera shot using the 360 degree ballhead feature, and the bubble level. Only complaint is that it is quite hard to get it level for panning shots.

Cons
It was covered in sea salt. Water was retained within the collar of the tripod from the diving trip. It's been deadweight in my bag for 3 weeks now.

Competitiveness
I was able to wrap the legs around the branch of a tree and my go pro shot a time-lapse of the sunset.
I've always wanted to try joby products as they always look fit for purpose (unlike so many other brands).
Pcworld are selling the same gorillapod at a higher price.

I wouldnt trust it to hold my dslr on a high ledge but would work fantastic for action cameras brilliantly

The leg fell off his and it could barely hold the camera without the whole tripod falling off whatever he attached it to

Having purchased a number of similar but cheaper tripods over the years i now realise how much better a joby gorillapod action tripod is

The ball joints have better articulation and the rubber material around the circumfrence of each ball grips well
