Pros & Cons
Pros
Great way to get your snack fix without the guilt. Chips are crisp and browned. Rub the potato pieces together to create more starch for crunch.
I was pleasantly suprised by this product. Can't beat this gadget.
Picked one up at hobby lobby and used my 40% off coupon. Stores compactly. Only problem is that some of them curl.
Kit includes a bowl, a microwave slotted tray to put your potato slices in, a mandolin style slicing blade, and a spiked handle to hold the potato so that you do not accidentally slice off the end of your fingers. No more cutting potatoes into chips w... Read More
Cons
I am disappointed in the length of the holding prongs on the handheld slicer. Product is gimmick.
Tried to use for zucchini chips, but melted in the microwave on my first use. Ended up throwing the tray away and keeping the slicer for making salads. No help getting a replacement for the bad one or a refund.

Make sure you spray oil dont dip

The mandoline situation is a little precarious slippery topheavy and its difficult to get a good handhold that isnt in the way of the potatos path which is why it doesnt get 5 stars

Also dont overfill the rack it defeats the purpose of keeping the slices separated and with the most surface area possible exposed for crisping

That is to say the diameter of chip that you can put in the rack is probably no larger than 1 to 1 12

Anything larger and they will touch each other and stick and not cook thoroughly

Even if you are fixing them to go with hot dogs for two people you might want to allow a half hour just to get enough chips

I tried it a couple of times and then abandoned the whole concept
