Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

This style is much better than the traditional squeeze type garlic mincer in terms of size and ease/quickness of use. This product minces the garlic really fine.

Pearls of garlic sauté nicely in olive oil. Blast of water cleans the holes. And it clears easily with a fork.

It is a little pricey but totally worth it. It's very sturdy and easy to use.

Use a rocking motion over peeled garlic and get a great crush. Scrape spoon over holes to remove excess garlic. My only suggestion is that if the handles were just a bit flatter, it’d be easier to smash the garlic with.

Cons

Using this item, the garlic bulb is simply'smushed' the bulb moves either to the side, or through the holes. It doesn't crush or mince the garlic; it smashes it. You have to get a toothpick and poke out the remaining garlic.

Not as easy to clean as expected. The tool on the cutting board does not release all of the garlic and rinsing under running water does not completely remove it either. It wastes most of the clove. Not ergonomic at all.

Great quality product - simply not as easy to use as i thought it would be.

It’s not easy to clean, and you really have scrub the holes with a stiff bristle brush to get all the garlic out.

Price

I always keep nail brushes (24 for $10 on amazon) handy in kitchen.

It is more expensive but it was worth it for me.

I am so happy that amazon let me know that the price had been reduced.

Shipping

Shipping was fast and the price is reasonable.

Competitiveness

I find the method of use and easy cleanup is far superior to all other devices i’ve tried.

Also, cleaning this one is very easy and surprisingly quick in comparison to the squeeze type.
