The design is really smart and convenient however the downside is that you really do need to read the manual before writing a negative review claiming the cubes are hard to get out

Here is a quick summary the shape of the cubes gives them “tails” and those tails keep them in the tray by tilting the silicone levers you break the tails and the cubes fall out

In order for this to work you need to twist the tray just as with a regular one and you need to make sure that there is nothing else holding the cubes

Another thing to watch for is water on the lid—make sure the lid is reasonably dry on the inside before placing it into the freezer otherwise a layer of ice will form stiffen in and if will crack the next time you try to open the tray
