Pros & Cons
Pros
The jsax is great to learn coordination and mouth technique. The * somewhat mirrors a real saxophone. The sound is good but compared to a brass saxophone you can really hear the difference.
The curved mouth piece is nice though. Other than that, i think that it’s a fun premium toy to play around with.
The ns is lightweight and durable because of the plastic construction. The build quality on this thing is great. One problem i do have is with moisture.
Cons
it has the appearance of a toy, not an instrument. Lite weight. Only plays high notes. Overpriced, didn't work.
Highlights
Quality
Well made, durable and works like a real instrument
This instrument is really durable, and leaving it out lets our son pick it up and play away whenever he wants, which lately is a lot.
After about 15 minutes of playing moisture and spit builds up in the mouth piece blocking the air flow completely.
"i heard from experts that they replace their real beginner's sax after a few years even though the looks pass for a professional sax.
Price
I think it’s excellent for the price.
Very good value at this price, expect to learn a lot with this instrument.
I am a young adult who played the sax and because i was a beginner, i chose the nuvo sax (ns) instead of an actual beginner sax for $200+.
This is with out a doubt a good instrument for the price!
Shipping
I will say that i emailed nuvo's north american contact asking what grease i should use and got a response the same night well ... Read More
Rec'd the jsax a day before it was promised and in good condition.
Packaging/appearance
But when i opened up the package and easley assembled it, i was so amazed of the sound and how easy it is to play!
Competitiveness
I’m guessing it’s more their skills than the jsax deserving of the high ratings.
On youtube, you find professional sax players rate the ns favorably for what it is.
