I was frustrated as i really needed to use the ball head and i was thinking i had to return it.
Price
So far so good, works well for the price point.
Taking a chance on something to save $10-20 is a bit risky but i don't see any compromises made here.
Packaging/appearance
But then i found the adapter in the package, screwed it into the ball head, then attached to my tripod.
The tripod i was gifted came with a sad plastic attachment.

I researched a benro and manfrotto gear heads in same price range.
