Pros & Cons
Pros
It's probably the thickest blade i've ever owned. Skeletonized but still very solid. The scales aren't too bad as some may say and i have sweaty hands.
It's the closest thing to indestructible that you will get with the survival knife. Really grows some hair on your balls. It's perfect for that.
It holds the knife very securely but seems to dull the edge somewhat when used. It's a good survival knife and you can even maneuver it well enough to do the smaller stuff. The added length makes it more useful for wider diameter wood and compared to ... Read More
Took handles off to see the tang. It’s the sheath that would actually get 3. I'm sure there are better sheaths but for my intentions itll work.
Cons
It vibrates oddly when chopping and just doesn't cut anything well. If you're looking for a heavy chunk of metal to chop stuff up using brute force, this is likely for you. In my survival pack i have a $10 folding saw that is 10x easier to use for cut... Read More
The becker handles are slippery weak when it comes to grip (especially if water or blood gets on them). The scales are worthless if you intend to actually work with this knife and sweat at all. They are slick as snot.
In my humble (or perhaps not so humble) opinion, this is a poster child for tools that have beendesigned to be too all encompassing. This knife is incomplete as it is, making it ultimately overpriced.
This to me is unforgivable. It is completely horrible! Not at all. Very inconvenient. This is not poor qa, it's terrible qa in my opinion.
The black coating is so thick that you cannot spark a ferro rod with the spine. Forced a patina on the entire surface with vinegar.

It could stand a few very good mods to get it into shape for what i would want (grippier scales, lose the coating, and sharpen ... Read More
Blade locks in sheath and cannot fall out unless you press your thumb on the groove plastic to separate the sheath to allow the... Read More
The knife is heavy and does not make a good combat knife.
Price
I suspect becker insists on using them just because they keep cost down.
Very good price for what you get.
I would, however, plan on spending another $50 or so on an aftermarket sheath for it.
Shipping
Exactly as ordered and received ahead of schedule.
Competitiveness
Bought some micarta scales for it ($35, also found on amazon) and they feel worlds better than the stock zytel ones and grip fa... Read More
Just know that it's probably heavier than any of them other knives you've ever had.
