Pros & Cons
Pros
They have a greatly improve the durability of the coating in the past five years. This is without a doubt the best and sharpest knife from the factory i’ve ever purchased.
The bk7 is an amazing knife, especially for the money you're paying! But amazingly enough i look over it because how good the knife is. The knife itself however is fantastic. Worth the $. a good & reliable knife.
Some people say the handle isn't textured enough. Full tang with bolt on scales, it has the look of a classic bowie knife.
It feels like a large knife in the hand, and certainly feels like it can tackle just about anything (including self-defense) without feeling excessive or cumbersome. Tough as a tank, hair-popping sharp, and sleek and * lines--all reasons to love this ... Read More
Ka-bar/becker bk-7. This bk7 is my newest addition to my kabar family. And like all ka-bars.
Cons
Ka-bar becker bk7 is an awkward knife. The coating is so rough that it prevents exactly what the knife is supposed to do. One of the 3 knives in this shipment has dirt all over the knife.
Becker bk7 is a stamped peice of inexpensive (cheap) sheet steel with plastic handles that come loose with light use. Taiwanese sheath is made of * nylon with a flimsy thin plastic liner.
The knife is totally awkward from a user stand point. It really gives you neither. Both have the same problems. I was disappointed with the things i mentioned above.
The handles are hollow and witnessed them break on a friend of mine's bk-9, although we're not sure what caused the defection in his handles. Serious injuries are already pre-programmed.

Quality
Great for battoning, super sharp and durable knife.
Blade feels real sturdy within the handle.
First day i used it to cut up some chicken quarters and it went through bone like butter with zero damage to the edge and coating.
Yes, the ka bar company has changed ownership several times over the years, but the current owner is killing it on quality, no ... Read More
Price
I had to have this because a) i’m a little bit of a knife knut, b) i like my other beckers, c) everyone praises this knife, d) ... Read More
It's my most expensive knife, so i wish it had been cheaper than 115 dollars
Maybe just getting a little too pricey.
By the time you buy the micarta handles (and spent the time dying them, if that’s your fancy), you’re close to $150.
Shipping
Received it in my mailbox around 3 and by 9pm i had a trip to the er after slicing off a portion of my thumb.
Packaging/appearance
The packaging was meh but the knife was amazing.
It came quite sharp (rough but certainly serviceable) out of the box with even grinds.
Competitiveness
Kabar and becker have an awesome knife product.
There are just so many other knives at the final price point that are as good or better (you can easily spend an additional $10... Read More
Most people discard the factory grips and replace with micarta or exotic wood.

Can cause blisters with a ton of use but honestly not a signifigant problem and easily avoided by just taking a break when your hand heats up
