Pros & Cons
Pros
This ka-bar d2 wins out for its better steel & edge retaining, for me.
The d2 knife is extremely sharp and light. It comes shaving sharp so be careful when you test the blade. Need to use a diamond stone to re-sharpen.
The grip texture is excellent. I was used to the mre slashers in the corps. My only gripe is the lousy sheath compatible with this knife. I like the feel of it, the handle feels just perfect in my hand.
This is my favorite knife to go out and get wet since it's got the stainless steel edge. I wish that the tang was a bit wider for piece of mind, but thats truthfully only because other knives i own are like that. I like the teeth for sawing because yo... Read More
Cons
The box says made in the usa but the blade of the knife says china.

Price
If kabar could get the price down to owe say 80 bucks for this knife i think everyone should buy it over the standard.
Shipping
Also with shipping i would never pay more than $70.
Packaging/appearance
A few facts for the amazon shopper who is unsure of this product:1) this a tried and true us made ka-bar that's razor sharp out of the box.

I was not impressed with the packaging number one.
Of course, i can't leave well enough alone and had to better the edge (which wasn't bad out of the box anyway.
Competitiveness
For a knife this expensive you would expect something that came in a decent presentation package, and if not a decent presentat... Read More
Only some of the becker designes are made in taiwan, who i might add makes some decent blades.
2) mine came with a kydex sheath, not a leather one.
No bells and whistles, if you just want a good-looking, ugly knife that's made for what it's specifically made for, this is it!

The only problem comes from the sheath though it is a very well made quality leather sheath it is just no match for the power of the d2 and even only after a few times of using the sheath it showed dangerous signs of wear and tear
