Pros & Cons
Pros
Not too stiff. I wonder if the knife will flex on me if i cut with enough force (it has not yet). But tightening the pivot screw will fix that. The lockup is solid with no wiggle.
Aus8 steel is a great user steel, tough and easy to resharpen. Upper tier of 'budget' steels. Nice aus8 clip style blade with thumb hole works great.
Blade centering is perfect, it comes razor sharp, and its zytel grips very much duplicate the scales of my delicas. Blade is durable- i've used this knife as a prybar and to scrape off caked on mud and rust, with no problems.
The hole is a little edgy, grabs thumb, but wears skin a bit. The deployment is far more smoother with the thumbhole.
This is a durable, slim daily worker. It is light and sturdy. I have lots of others for fun and style, for flipping and for delicate tasks.
Cons
The knife has no washers or bearings. No liner, just plastic. Hard to maneuver around.
Highlights
Quality
It is very sturdy seems to be well built.
Aus8 steel is a great user steel, tough and easy to resharpen.
Update - three weeks later - completely dishwasher safe
The stainless steel is high carbon enough that it shows small rust pockets, while not high enough carbon to hold any sort of edge.
Price
It's a great budget folder at this price.
For the $20 it's a great buy!
At the 15 to 20 bucks you can buy a dozier for most everywhere you won't miss much sleep if you lose one or gift one to a friend.
The knife was inexpensive enough that i feel like i can tinker with it and not feel awful if i ruin it.
Shipping
Item was delivered several days ahead of schedule, as well.
Packaging/appearance
I'm very pleased with the packing and handling.
Competitiveness
This knife is way easier to take apart, than the spyderco delica, and spyderco endura, which are notoriously difficult to take apart.
This knife has enough going for it, to stand apart from other brands.
You can pay a lot more, but i don't think you will get any more usefullness out of the more expensive knives!
The one thing this knife definitely does better than the spyderco delicas, is it's take down, and disassembly.
