Pros & Cons
Pros
The retention sheath securely holds the knife until you release it. The clip for the sheath serves its purpose perfectly whether it's worn with or without a belt and even secures the knife nicely on a boot and even thin pajama type pants. The sheath i... Read More
I use this as an edc and can't leave home without it! I recommend this knife to anyone who wants to carry on a belt as a edc. Secondly the * fire is more difficult to hide behind a magazine pouch or other piece of gear.
Love it but did not come as sharp as some of my other knives like my spyderco or my glock bayonet. Feels great in the hand, heavy duty construction. Knife is great hard to sharpen.
The g-10 grips are aggressive and handle well! The grip is slim but comfortable for my hands. The recessed thumb jimping on the spine is ideal.
Cons
This particular design has flaws that many would find a detriment for actual field & tactical applications. Extremely heavy and super bulky. Hard to believe anybody in law inforcement would buy the heaviest knife on the market. Weak spring clip is... Read More

I tried to yank it out, fairly aggressively, without using the release button and i could not.
The blade comes sharp out of the box and i didn't have to sharpen it.
Price
Seller was great to deal with and will buy more from them.
Made tdi is more than double the price of ka-bar's non-u.
The price is right for a defensive knife.
Shipping
Also, ka-bar free one-day shipped it to me.
I must live close to them, because i ordered it around 3 or 4pm yesterday, and it arrived in the mail first thing this morning!
Packaging/appearance
From the moment i took it out of the box i was in love; the grip fits my hand perfectly; the blade is thicker than usual (for t... Read More
Came pretty dang sharp but a quick slide on the ceramic rod hone had it razor sharp very quickly.
Competitiveness
I have the other kbar tdi knives and this one is by far my favorite.
I find compared to the original the hell fire fits the hand more naturally and presents a more usable blade profile.
I hated the sheath it came with so i bought one from a custom maker and now it’s even better.

The grip is slim but comfortable for my hands

If you have huge hands you may have problems with the handle especially if wielding in a defensive grip
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Contrary to a previous review i find that the blade is very easy to unsheathe into a filipino grip because of the design of the sheath but you would want to keep the blade tucked iwb on your opposite hip if you prefer a defensive grip it also would take both hands to unsheathe the blade this way due to the design of the sheath but the blade would be able to be unsheathed one handed into your off hand with a filipino grip this way as well

All in all this blade is perfectly designed for use of a filipino grip blade forward thumb resting on the spine of the blade decent for a defensive grip blade down and terrible with a hammer grip blade forward thumb wrapped around handle as the handle is not big enough

The sheath has a positive retention mechanism with a release button

Its not bad but its really not that useful unless its for defensive purposes only
