Pros & Cons
Pros
The build is impecable, but the only downside is that they sent a darker build that what my product looked like in the pictures. I'm so impressed this is so well made and everything that comes with it is so worth the price.
Ukes are fun to play and don't require a lot of monetary investment. The only issue is the satin finish on this uke is a little light. Enter the tenor uke.
The instrument is very resonant and projects sound extremely well. If you already play guitar (even a beginner), the ukulele is not a hard instrument to pick up. Arrived early and is a very nice looking instrument and has all the goodies.
The case that comes with it is very good--sturdy with handles and straps in the right places, and a zippered pocket. It is a little padded, comes with an extra strap and honestly it's so cute! Great little bundle but hate the strap.
This is the one to buy if you are a first time ukulele buyer. Bought as a gift based on a family members recommendation. Surprise christmas gift arriving after new year's.
Cons
The intonation of the walnut one works great, while this one is out of tune across the fretboard. The saddle height is very high making playing uncomfortable.
Highlights
Quality
I am extremely happy with the kala ka-15s.
Not only does the quality hold up for being a relatively cheap uke, but it's beautiful.
I purchased this instrument for a student whose parents were uncertain whether their daughter really would stick with the ukulele.
I can not comment on sound quality.
Price
I'm so impressed this is so well made and everything that comes with it is so worth the price.
Shipping
Shipping was as expected and on time.
During shipping the outer box was quite beat up and ripped but there seemed to be no damage to the instrument.
Competitiveness
I'm about to buy one of these for myself, mainly for people who come over who don't bring their own ukes.
