I read a critical review that said it wasn't worth the money, but i could not disagree more. Top notch chef's knife. Us with a coupon code.
Super sharp out of the box and scary sharp after a few passes across my strop. The weight and sharpness is impressive and makes prep easy. This is for those who know what they're doing with a professional knife and know how to store, sharpen it.
Every detail of this knife is perfection. Especially i am a big fan of the vegetable knife.

It was definitely worth every penny and i decided to order the kanpeki set as well!
I recently got this set, buy one get one free for $90.
It is well worth the extra $$.
I am beyond ecstatic to know this was a true bargain, not just a flashy "promo" to sell an overpriced cheap product.

I received this in 2 days with prime, and it arrived in perfect shape.
Packaging/appearance
Also the packaging really pleases my eye.
Starting from the packaging all the way through the design of the knife everything is absolutely wonderful.
The packaging was very nice as well as it came packaged in a wooden box i can re-use for other applications.
The packaging was a plus as well.
Competitiveness
I am aware of other knives, shun, mac and other japanese knife brands, and i did my research before i purchased my kamikoto knives.
I purchased directly from the mfr, you get much better deals when you subscribe to their deals and offers.
Hmmmm i am getting used to the santoku design, compared to the normal chef knife shape like my 8 inch chef.

Yes it does come with its own form fitted wooden box but i do suggest also in looking at the kamikoto knife block if you plan to purchase the all four knives in the set
