Pros & Cons
Pros
The blackhawk ii works perfectly for freshwater fishing. It was * a 1 oz * head about 50 yards on each cast i made earlier today. It’s light as a feather with nice backbone and great action. Put my first baitast reel on it and fished all day with no i... Read More
One of the most notable features of the blackhawk ii rods is their telescopic design. This is the best telescopic rod i ever bought and it works very well. Once i got the knack, it works fine.
I prefer it to my 7’ ml st croix and the convenience factor is huge! This casts better and is just as sensitive as my 1pc rhino rod!
This rod has the guides securely epoxied to where they connect to the rod. The extra eyelets are a nice touch. Takes a bit to line up all the eyelets.
Cons
The tip feels really flimsy. The hook keeper is flimsy and cheap. The tips are super fragile so if there is any tension to bend they'll break.
Highlights
Quality
I’m very satisfied with the quality of this 7” rod.
This is the best telescopic rod i ever bought and it works very well.
Leaving them extended vertically while driving will cause them to collapse and gets your lure tangled up bouncing over the waves.
I am not a kastking fanboy because i own two more kastking products, the compass spinning and casting rods and they suck.
Price
You get what you paid for on this and a little more.
Overall, i would say this rod is a steal at the price point.
I’m not a fan of 2 piece rods so all of my rods are 1 piece for better durability but that comes at the cost of convenience.
Shipping
I purchased the 7' mh spinning rod, and had was initially unsatisfied with the item and the late amazon delivery.
I ordered it on amazon and it was delivered within two days.
Packaging/appearance
It arrived it a triangular heavy duty cardboard box and inside it was packaged with care, the pole eyes had a hard plastic cove... Read More
The rod came well packaged and is very compact when collapsed.
Competitiveness
I have tried out several other brands and these are the best in my opinion.
Some of these other brands just look generic and cheap but not this one.
The sensitivity of the rod is comparable to other rods in this price point.
