Pros & Cons
Pros
For a reliable quality collapsible baitcasting rod, this is probably as good as you can get. This casts better and is just as sensitive as my 1pc rhino rod. Quality seems to be right on par with the excellent quality of their reels and one piece rods.... Read More
The telescopic design allows you to cast with precision and accuracy. The sensitivity of the graphite blank is excellent. It really has great action and sensitivity even for a telescoping rod.
Kastking blackhawk ii telescopic fishing rods are an excellent choice for anglers who want a compact, portable rod without sacrificing performance. I prefer it to my 7’ ml st croix and the convenience factor is huge! Super portable and for me, nearly ... Read More
Only issue im starting to see at 3 yr mark is widening of the guides due to slamming the sections to retract when its tight. The extra eyelets are a nice touch and can be pulled down in place to guide the line. Takes a bit to line up all the eyelets.
Cons
The quality on these rods is quite poor. A quick read of the warranty is buy a new rod at 1/2 price + $20s/h. It is a good company and they make plenty of great products (sun protection gear is a+) but this ain't it for me, proceed with caution.
There is a lack of sensitivity in the rod. There is was no easy way to line up the eyelets so they were always off and the tip of my rod broke. The hook keeper is flimsy and cheap.
Highlights
Quality
The quality is beyond my expectation and i actually bought two rods with different styles.
The quality is amazing and hats off the cast king for another great rod.

Also wanted to mention when they say it’s action is fast i would say it’s closer to and extra fast action tip is extremely soft... Read More
Competitiveness
If you're on a budget but still want a high-quality fishing rod, the blackhawk ii series is definitely worth considering.
This kastking rod is a great telescopic rod at a perfect price.
I own many kastking products and this is the only item in their lineup that i haven't taken a liking to thus far.
I am not a kastking fanboy because i own two more kastking products, the compass spinning and casting rods and they suck.
