When fully extended, the blackhawk ii rods are just as strong and durable as traditional one-piece rods. It is really lightweight and still robust. The bend is nice and the portability is unbeatable.

The blackhawk ii works perfectly for freshwater fishing. Held up so far beyond my expectations tossing around very heavy baits. The tip is fragile but that is the nature of the beast when using telescoping rods.
