Pros

Does the job for the average fisherman/beginner.

A bit stiffer than advertised, as most kastking rods seem to be. The reel has a wonderful drag tension knob. Sensitive is there, can feel the ticks and bumps.

Reel is solid and appears to be very durable. Seems sturdy and worth the price. Very impressed. Very pleased so far.

Bought this for my 15 year old's birthday. Bought this as a gift for one of my kids. Now the other kids want one too. Nice gift for father's day.

The kastking brutus is the best combo rod and reel i've ever purchased for the price. One of the biggest factors in the decision to purchase this combo is where it is made. For a rod/reel spinning combo, it's hard to beat the price on this combo.

Cons

The rod is clunky and the sensitivity is inconsistent for me. Overkill unless fishing salt water.
