Pros

Reel is buttery smooth, casts way out into the water, feels stout and looks awesome too. This reel is amazing for the price! I have higher name brand reels that cost 3x as much and these perform just as well across the board.

Magnetic brake is a beast. Drag feels strong on it. Only issue is the thumb release is uncomfortable.

As fast as for beginners. It's easier to get it perfectly dialed in. Cast control is top notch.

Cons

Do not buy this reel. I have the perigee 2 mh rod which i have 0 complaints about but this reel is pretty junk. I like to palm my reel when i fish and whenever i hook into a fish my hand puts pressure on the plastic body of the reel and distorts it.

It appears whatever part/gear that drives the spool is broken or misaligned. Casts well but but reel with handle will turn a complete turn backwards before it will engage.

The warranty is long expired. The brake system is bad, like non existing. The paint holds all dirt and is impossible to clean. The drive gear and the "w-pinion gear" are junk.

I do not recommend getting rid of your daily use reel for a while until you get used to having to readjusting this reel.

Price

Awesome reel for a great price, used for sac-a-lait fishing, smooth and great quality and surprisingly came with a pair of scissors.

Not worth full price, get while on sale.

If you are looking for a well priced reel to get you started, or a quality reel to improve your casting, give this one a chance!

Absolutley cant beat them for under $60.

All fishermen have preferences, but i like these as much as a lew's speed spool.

Crixus features many high end components generally found in much more expensive reels.

Works just as well as the expensive name brands.
