Bought this rod/reel combo for my boyfriend’s birthday last month. Kastking customer service was excellent on fulfilling the warranty. Great combo for the price.

White reel and accents & matte finish rod are on point. Light, durable and its real nice looking also. Very sensitive when paired with braid.

Cons

Poorly made setup and out 100 bucks. I know it's a budget setup, but i expected more.

Obvious defect. I'm not sure if this was a defective rod, or if they are poorly made in general. Email has been sent to manufacturer and am waiting a reply.

Not a single cast, let alone a bite, just one sad *. Every 3 or 4 casts its birds nests on me no matter how much i adjust the brake system. Then, with a fish on the line the tip of the pole snaps off.

There product is always excellent but i was most impressed with the packaging.

Great rod and reel, shipping and packaging was excellent.

I spent a lot of time researching the best budget baitcast combo and i ended up going with this.

I think i became a fan of kastking, most of my firsting gear is from them, and now i got my first rod and reel from them.

I have it rigged up with 15lb.

I am an avid/experienced fisherman but never really fished for bass or with a baitcaster.
