Pros

It’s been yanked around by catfish in rod holders. The guides and reel seat look great.

I’m not sure if others reporting breaks received duds but this one is sleek, tough, and light. Strong enough to get the fish to the kayak or the shore or whatever you're fishing from.

Cons

I have a 2 piece shakespeare microlite i bought from walmart for 20 bucks that outperformed this brand. Rod itself is rated over 15lb. Very brittle rod. Its like these are made out of hollow balsa wood.

Took it out a total of 5 times. Returned for refund. Kastking warranty is garbage. You have to pay to ship it to kastking, which costs 18 dollars, and they request 20 dollars for shipping and handling of the replacement. That’s if they determine that ... Read More

It’s an amazing rod, i haven’t been able to use it yet but it is very sturdy, great looking, and very very good shipping.

Competitiveness

The first thing i can tell you is that when you order a kastking rod, you can be pretty certain it will arrive in perfect condition.

Just what i needed to fit in the car trunk where you can't carry a solid 1pcs rod.

But it does not hold a piscifun viper 2000 worth a darn.

While it's not a premium rod, i would imagine another manufacturer could market it better and sell it for twice the price.
