Pros

Light and sensitive. Casts a country mile. Super responsive when picking up bites and/or setting the hook. Well constructed. Easy to cast, line guides are super smooth.

The kastking brutus 4000 is a great rod for bass fishing. It's great for saltwater fishing, too. It seats the reel snug and secure.

Cons

Kastking is usually good on customer support but you have to pay shipping and the cost of shipping for a rod this cheap, it's just not worth it. Sad but can’t recommend it to anyone. Warranty is a joke.

I have a 2 piece shakespeare microlite i bought from walmart for 20 bucks that outperformed this brand. The tips of these rods are actually brittle because they are so thin and rather stiff. Unbelievable how fragile this rod is.

With 10 pound mono on the reel, i got hung on some brush in 20ft of water. Second eyelet from the tip is faulty and has exposed metal ridge. Also the eyelets are not lined up with the reel mount.

It’s an amazing rod, i haven’t been able to use it yet but it is very sturdy, great looking, and very very good shipping.

They definitely know how to package a fishing rod for shipping.

This is an excellent value rod, packaging was superb and the craftmanship is very good.

Competitiveness

The first thing i can tell you is that when you order a kastking rod, you can be pretty certain it will arrive in perfect condition.

Going to use this rod with 2 different reels, one 2000 and 2500 both with 15# spiderwire braid.

But it does not hold a piscifun viper 2000 worth a darn.

While it's not a premium rod, i would imagine another manufacturer could market it better and sell it for twice the price.
