Pros

This reel is what made me fall in love with kastking. You won't be disappointed. Love the pitching switch. Update, customer service is great.

I spool mine with 30lb braid with a 20lb mono leader. From max brakes, all the way down to 3 in the brake settings there was no backlash. Great casting distance.

I'm an old yankee cheapskate, but i think pricing is fair. This is easily one of the best fishing purchases i've made in a long while! But definitely worth the price especially if ur a beginner.

This baitcaster is the only reel i use for salmon fishing in southeast alaska. Hauling in king salmon all day. It takes getting used to as it changes how i have been programmed for flipping baits.

The flip function is fun, and useful. The flipping switch is easily turned on/off and is easily accessible for quick adjustment. I have a quantum pt accurist s3 that has that feature and i absolutely love it for flipping into heavy stuff.

Cons

It feels like cheap garbage in the hand, which is inexcusable at this price. The product info you find online is the same. Just buy from 13 fishing or six gill.

It does not work effectively with lures with a lot of wind resistance, such as spinnerbaits.

I rigged it on a 7' kalex xps medium heavy rod, with about 100 yards of 30 lb powerpro braid, using no backing.

Price

This is very much worth the price tag.

For under $150, this is a great combination.

And based on this, i also purchased a kastking cadet spincast reel for $12 on prime day.

But still a great reel for the price.

Competitiveness

I honestly can't imagine spending a higher amount on a shimano, abu garcia or lews bait casting reel.

I like it as well as, or better than, both my metnium’s (and much better than my slx).

I'm getting about 25% further casts in comparison to my shimano spinner.
