Pros & Cons
Pros
Only drawback is the holster. Sheath and lanyard are perfect and i love the orange as i often fish at night.
After a bit of struggle we get it onboard. Nice sturdy pair of fishing pliers. The snap ring pliers are really handy.
Workmanship and tolerances with the jaws are tight. The rubber cushiony grip feels amazing and will not slip from your hand. Fairly light weight, and compact. Lightweight with a comfortable grip.
The carbide cutters seem to be still as sharp as they were two years ago. The cutter is great for harder to cut braid. The additional holes to hold a hook while tightening knots is a great +1 feature.
Non corrosive makes them less slippery when your hands are wet or covered in fish slime. I use these mostly for surfcasting and they've geld up well over the last 2 months. It has it all for the saltwater fisherman or the freshwater fisherman alike.
Cons
In researching the company, it is very clear that world-class customer service is one of their core competencies. But this product is not safe. This is solely from damp storage locker environment.
However, the swivel back is too loose and will turn over. Also the accompanying sheath isn't much to write home about. The liner in the bottom catches the point of the pliers, making it fiddly to insert.
My line cutter blades are completely nicked and dull. The cutting tool also goes dull like, wayyyy to quick. It shreds the line.
Highlights
Quality
They are well built and after several uses, they are not rusting.
These are they best pliers i’ve ever had the side cutters are a great feature solid awesome grip
I’ve put these through the wringer for 12 months straight, salt water, fresh water you name it.
They’ll snip anything reasonable you can stick in there, including steel cable.
Price
I'm glad alexa recommend them at a discount; however, they are well worth full price.
Fine product for the price, they lasted a full season guiding alaska!
But you can buy 15 pairs of these for the price of the van staals!
Shipping
After receiving a defective pair i was contacted by customer service and issued a pair of my choice and couldn't be more happy !
Competitiveness
Been buying more and more kastking products since they are more affordable than other brands and to know surprise these pliers are awesome.
I use these all day and have used most of the competition products.
I have tried several of the "other' stainless fishing pliers and they were inferior and would "spring out.
After looking into other brands and reading reviews i stuck to what i know works.
