Right off the top of my head i believe i purchased these 3 9volt batteries plus charger for under$40.
Now those rascals are not cheap , about $9.

Used these in place of a regular alkaline battery to power an electric solenoid valve for an airrocket launcher for my kids i was concerned about fact that lithium batteries at full charge seem to begin at lower overall voltage than new alkaline batteries of same formfactor but i found that these liion batteries lasted so much longer takes a lot longer for voltage to start dropping

The truck takes 6 aa batteries the hand control takes 3 aa and 1 9v
