Pros & Cons
Pros
The soundstage and imaging are out of this world. They get waaay louder than i ever need them to. Blown away by the imaging, transparency, sound stage.
Bass response is surprising given the compact design. The bass is ridiculously good. There's a little bass peak in my room because of the port, but the speakers come with foam plugs to tame that if necessary.
These are my affordable favorites, beating a lot of far more expensive speakers. I definitely love the matte finish and when you knock on the side of the speaker itself it sounds like you're knocking on a solid block of wood. The pleasure in hearing m... Read More
It has that musicality that makes you want to listen for hours. Strings of all kinds sound guitar, lute, violin. Vocals have a nice sense of body and warmth without sounding unnaturally rich.
These are heads and shoulders above most bookshelf speakers. The anniversary monitor ls50s are kin in style, size, and precision. They work well aimed and tilted to drive directly at my ears.
Cons
I've demoed these against tons of bookshelf speakers and besides the looks, these just are not worth the money. No amt tweeter, no strong woofer, no high quality materials.
Highlights
Quality
I'm pleased with the upgraded hi-fi systems.
I can buy 6 triangle borea's and the sound quality is damn near if not better.
2)sound stage, although large for a bookshelf, still can't match quality floorstanding speakers.

Packaging/appearance

There was only a small hole on the box.
Competitiveness
The kef ls50 meta are replacing polk audio rti a7i recently purchased cambridge cxa81 and cxn v2 network streamer.
To me, these have the traditional kef ls50 sound, but enhanced in mid bass, treble, clarity and detail.
Then i decided on more realism and less stress on their drivers by throwing a velodyne 1.
I need a speaker that engages me in the music experience, the kef ls50 meta fell short here.
