Highlights
Quality
These speakers are super easy to get setup and playing high quality music.
I am so impressed with the sound quality from these speakers.
The sound quality, crispness and imaging of these little speakers is unbelievable!
I had audioengine's a2+ for the past two years without any subwoofer and gradually noticed the lack of sound quality even with an amp/dac.
Price
Yes, they're a bit pricey, but the sound is absolutely stellar.
Normally these big purchases i'd have buyer's remorse - i'd think, i could've gotten the edifiers for $100 or audioengines for ... Read More
If you can find them under $1k i would say go for it.
That's what i did, and the lsx2's i got were indistinguishable from new, for about $300 less.
Packaging/appearance
If you really want to hear detail, richness in a compact package, these will more than fit the bill.
Competitiveness
The lt's sound exactly as good as the lsx2's.

For me, this is a deal-breaker since i run a turntable through my lsx2's.

After a few days of listening to these powered speakers i could not help but to be amazed at their sound quality ease of use and ample bass response

That said it became obvious that they could benefit from a sub woofer not only to provide deep thundering base but to also take some of the load off the 5 14 inch driver

These speakers can truly play very very loud but the bass response cannot keep up at high volume levels
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Tests done by others show that the low bass response decreases at high volume levels due to the on board electronic amplifier protection circuits

This makes sense as a 5 14” driver will never pump out low distortion bass at high listening levels and even within its capabilities the driver will produce a bit of distortion at such high levels

Hence the solution is simply to add a subwoofer with a cross over at 80100 hertz

If one looks at the larger kef floor mount speaker systems you will find that the midrange and tweeter drivers are the same or even smaller in size than the kef ls50 wireless 2 yet are rated to deliver higher volume sound

Again this is simply due to the fact that the lowest frequencies are handled by a separate woofer
