Pros & Cons
Pros
The detachable brain bag turns into a sling and it is nicer than i expected. The removable daypack is awesome as well. Great trekking backpack for the price.
Front panel excess is fantastic. Great access to the main compartment.
Was in need of a new backpacking backpack and had been eyeing this for a while. Well made, well stitched and tight. Tough and handy. Made by rei.
Light, comfortable with breathable back cushion. I'm bigger in the chest and torso and this pack fits perfectly still. Looks to hold up as well or better by the cloth and stitching used.
Long shoulder straps with the proper padding and the back support is perfect. Roomy, comfortable straps. Adjust as-you-go suspension system works really well. Includes elastic bands and velcro to tie up excess strap lengths.
Cons
Nothing really major, but clips n zippers flexing more and even a flaw with base zippers on bottom being a weird “meet in the middle’ design. Look elsewhere for better; stay safe.

I also enjoyed the ability to remove the top of the pack for a day bag.
You either have to have your buddy put your bottle back or take off the pack.
Competitiveness
This bag weighs less than some competitors 65l bags but looks to hold up as well or better by the cloth and stitching used.
I did a detailed comparison with 3 competing brands and this bag easily won.
All three of those competitors cost more, and do less, with much less comfort than this kelty.

If kelty would make the belt pockets big enough to hold a water bottle they would have made the best backpack ever
