Suspension system and ergonomic are proven winners. Gearing up with 3 young kids with mom hauling one of them means dad gets to haul and so a exterior frame hauler just works. Empty weight is same as almost any internal pack of this size.

If you want this pack super fast, backcountry edge. Cooler back then internal.

I also loved how much stuff you can lash to the pack.

I have shoulder problems and this frame allows me to adjust the width of the strap mountings in order to have the pack ride appropriately.

At least this pack doesn't pretend you'll reach a water bottle on the pack bag, though there is one up high.

Competitiveness

Plenty of room inside, outside in pockets, and being an external, plenty of tie-down areas.

I use it for hunting waaaaay back up in the mountains.

If you are looking for a quaility pack look no further.

(i use thermarest 1" straps for that.
