Construction is a plastic and metal frame with nylon composition mesh support. Quality is good, but for this price and being from kensington, i would have expected a little bit more of softness.
The memory foam essentially moulds to the counter of your back. The padding is dense but not rock-solid, and most importantly it’s comfortable. The foam is firm and the covering is stitched well.
The only thing that’s a letdown in this application is the elasticated band mention previously. This however is a game changer.

The rest itself looks like a bizarre shape but it provides support across the lower back and when i sit up properly in the chair it supports the sides of the back

As long as you have a solid back in which to attach the back rest then you simply clip it on

You put your hand on it and whatever size your hand is it matches to a colour

The only downsides are the tendency for a little slippage so you have to slightly move it back in place after a while and also the lack of instructions
