Pros & Cons
Pros
This mouse is unique as it's fusing the ergonomic developments in traditional mice and the innovations kensington has made in the trackball space. It's surprising, but i've really been enjoying using this mouse for gaming. My favorite trackball mouse ... Read More
Kensington orbit fusion has only one discernable negative. The pre programmed scroll button allows for vertical and horizontal scrolling.
It connects to your computer with a usb wireless dongle and includes a usb-c adapter if that is all your computer has. I have it plugged into a switch and use it on my work pc (windows), home pc (gnu/ linux), and a ps4.
The trackball is slightly undersized than the orbit, but works fine. It's not so mini, but it sure does get the job done. I love how customizable orbit fusion is! And loving the smaller and lighter trackball.
When squeezing your hand to click, the trackball usually rolls to the right a little. Dpi switch is right there allowing you to adjust the speed of your cursor with just the click. You can configure the button to behave differently in any program on y... Read More
Cons
The top 2 dpi settings have a built in acceleration which is uncomfortable and frankly unusable. Sometimes the pointer will freeze or become jumpy. The scroll wheel is not smooth at all and the pointer jumps around.
The orbit fusion wireless unit is severely flawed because the left click button is not a button. It no longer links to the computer through the transmitter. The only good thing about this k72363ww is that the rf link works reliably.
When i first grip the mouse my hands natural open position seems to land with pinky on the right click button, but at the very bottom where even if it wasn't awkward, pressing with my pinky wouldn't actually click the button. The left mouse click is t... Read More
The rmb is just a pain. It is essentially a wearing down of surfaces, usually entails making rough surfaces wear against each other.
Highlights
Quality
Every feature of this device is top notch, with build quality at the top.
I love the ergonomics and the scroll wheel is excellent.
After three years of heavy use the main mouse button started to intermittently fail, and the ball also didn't spin as smoothly ... Read More
Technically ball on top or left is a bad design and hard to operate with middle/thumb hand doesn't rest comfortably that way.
Shipping
I have not had any issue with this track ball since i received it on jan 23.
The replacement arrived a day later and appears to function properly.
Packaging/appearance
They packed a lot of functionality in one trackball.
Competitiveness
I own multiple trackballs from kensington, elcomm, and logitech.
I really wanted to try something other than kensington because i hear that their switches are inferior (and it's the left-click... Read More
The scroll wheel pushes this way ahead of the competition.
A couple comparisons: i've used the expert wireless trackball and the regular usb orbit (wires matter way less with a trackball).
