It felt like some plastic was grinding on the ball, i cleaned the contacts by removing the ball, it didn't work.
After using it for several more days, the mysterious "plastic" was grounded away and i had a relatively smooth experience afterwards.

It is a huge improvement for the other ergo, also, i prefer the angle of this trackball, i find it much more natural.
