Pros

Great deck for spl. It does everything i need it to do for an aftermarket sound system. Mi third car with same stereo.

It is very easy to hit the slightest gust of wind and rotate into different settings. Bluetooth works great, lots of features.

Sound output is pretty good. Not distortion of whine in the sub at all. Can play clean without distortion up to volume 34 on the 'sub and rear' rca pre-out channels which is borderline maximum.

The smd dd1 is a great head unit for the price. Picked one of these up for my ride and did some bench testing using it. It's possible that kenwood may be cheaping out in a few areas, but they still make a solid head unit.

Head unit has an rms output of 25 watts per channel. Watt amp/subwoofer in work truck 97 gmc 2500.

The quality of the sound is so good that i was actually listening to sounds i only experienced with my headphones.

I'll perhaps update my review once i've spent more time with the unit.

It goes to show that you get what you pay for, it sounds great even with the 25 year old factory speakers.
