Packaging/appearance
I love kenwood but my glass bowl chipped when it was put on the drainer after washing it.
Competitiveness
A really solid piece of home baking machinery and much cheaper than the kitchenaid equivalent!
The mixer is very well built, mostly metal and there is a reassuring 5-year warranty.
I've bought chepaer ones in the past that would have died by now, no sign of any issues with this one.

There is however a flaw in the design the plastic ring that goes around the bottom of the glass mixing bowl so far i’ve had four of these every one of them has ended up the same as the one in the picture the first two i thought i had killed by washing them in the dishwasher but the second two i didn’t put them in the dishwasher and still had the same affect i’m not sure exactly what the issue is but the plastic circle that screws onto the bottom of the bowl is not fit for purpose

While i was making dough in the glass bowl it jerked and fell on the floor so had to go back

The repair company re built it so it came back as new and tested perfect

So i phoned kenwood again i have to say they are faultless with their after sales and it was returned for repair again the repair people had seen more of my new mixer than i had

I’m disappointed about the glass bowl which is obviously too high as the attachments touched the bottom of the bowl causing the mixer to jerk

There was no way id pay the extortionate amount for a kitchenaid although im sure they are lovely so i plumped for one of these
