Pros & Cons
Pros
The kershaw 1776 is ultra slim and light. Clip holds strong on any pants from cargo shorts to denim to hiking pants. The handle on the skyline is thinner and slightly more grippy.
This is a manual flipper knife that is nice and slim. The checkered grip offers good traction. Nice grip on handle.
This blade is a regular in my (such as it is) edc arsenal. If you are looking for a starter edc blade or a beater knife, this is the right product for you.
A great, economical performer. All that at a sub $50 price point is impossible to beat.
The blade always cleans up nice, the g10 handle is as grippy as ever. When the blade is deployed the linerlock clicks into place perfectly.
Cons
The skyline's pocket clip can't be moved to the other side to allow left-hand carry. The blade spine is very narrow, and the there is no (apparent) steel beneath the g10 scales. The deployment/liner lock on this knife is flawed. It is very easy to fai... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Blade shape is excellent and feels sturdy.
3 years in, i still have the knife, clip, torx screw and it’s never popped off.
The steel is super sharp like a razors edge.
This is not a knife suitable for heavy cutting tasks.
Price
This is the perfect edc knife for under $50.
All in all a great value and useful knife to have.
Again, for a $50 knife you can't expect higher quality materials.
Its a little pricy but i will buy more.
Shipping
I would have bought it on amazon if they would ship it to me.
It don't understand why amazon refuses to ship knives to me in upstate ny, they are perfectly legal here.
Was sent misspackaged item first, but was resolved quickly and easily with no extra cost to me.
Competitiveness
I have owned this knife for 3 years and won a personal competition between 3 other similar price and quality knives.
He loves his sleek it is compared to other more bulky knives.
I was trying to decide between this and the spyderco tenacious.
• the point of the skyline is roundish, rather than truly pointy, compared to other blades.
