First off about the damascus blade hereunlike what one review says this is true damascus but they do use a coating on it to make it more visible and it does scratch off and would lead someone to believe it was fake it is not

I removed my blade from the knife and used a buffer to remove their coating and give it a mirror shine and you can see the folds in the steal so it is not painted on as others suggestedpic included

I have gone through 4 springs on it all you have to do is contact kershaw and they will have one in the mail to you the next day free of charge
