Is decently sharp out of the box but ten minutes on my lansky sharpening box put a great edge on it which it maintains throughout the week i touch up my knives weekly
Action was a little stiff out of the box but a little oil and twenty or so openclose sequences to work the oil in brought it to a smooth operation
I have quite of few kershaw knives because of quality and value
