Pros & Cons
Pros
Looks good and is a very functional edc knife. These are the same partners as zero tolerance and other elite brands.
Cpm s30v is a martensitic (hardened) powder-made (sintered) wear and corrosion resistant stainless steel. Its chemistry promotes the formation and even distribution of vanadium carbides, which are harder and more effective at cutting than chromium car... Read More
Speedsafe is a much more consistent, solid lockup. The liner lock is very secure from my testing. The spring and lock are well done and feel sturdy.
I wish it had a hilt or finger indent behind the blad to further lessen the risk of slipping the hand onto the blade. Great price for a s30v knife.
If you are blur fan then this is for you. I'm not someone who write reviews, but i felt compelled to do so. As has become one of my favorite knives out of my rather extensive collection.
Cons
That blade was returned as defective. The only recourse i have is to send it back for factory service.
Kershaw really need to address this safety problem. The locking liner only partially rest against the blade.
The blade is wavy, as if whatever/whoever sharpened it bounced it along the stone (i don't know if people or machines sharpen these). There is a visible wave in the blade and it's very prominent to touch. I find this policy to be absurd since a knife ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
This is a high quality everyday tool that you could hand down to your little ones some day when appropriate.
The finish on it is excellent and it has a very secure feeling in my hand, the grip inserts are excellent.
After 5 months (of medium use) it’s still razor sharp.
Apparently there was a run of faultily manufactured or assembled blurs over a decade ago which would not keep the blades locked... Read More
Price
Very good knife for the right price.
00 and for the money and quality of a us made knife this is hard to beat.
I can’t recommend this knife enough, it’s a steal at the asking price.
At $80 you're getting a steal on this steel.
Packaging/appearance
Came razor sharp and this is my second blur the first has exceptional edge retention.
I couldn't help myself and finally opened the package today before returning it.
All i've used it for so far is opening boxes, but it seems to hold an edge.
So far i'm happy with the one i received other than it could have been sharper out of the box.
Competitiveness
Very sharp blade that keeps its edge much better than other knives in its price range.
Od love it if kershaw made those versions in s30v as well.
No, it is not a benchmade knife and anyone comparing it to a high end knife is just being silly.
You can spend more money on an everyday carry knife but it won't be better.
